As it became clear that it was necessary to invest deeply into the robust training and support of artist-entrepreneurs, MOC cofounder Emily Roller joined forces with Jenny Larios Berlin, serial entrepreneur and Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Lecturer at MIT Sloan, and Peter Li, a talented artist and engineer, to form Makerstate.

As MOC’s primary partner for artist education, Makerstate’s AI-powered platform offers personalized training based on artists' career goals. They’ve adapted the Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework (used at MIT to help innovation driven entrepreneurs - including scientists and researchers - to successfully incubate and commercialize their work) into an actionable process for creators in the fields of theater, film/TV, visual art and design, and other artistic and impact-focused fields.

In alignment with MOC, Makerstate believes that it’s time for the creative economy to be centered around creators. Their role is to empower creators with the tooling and training they need to ensure their most impactful work reaches its audience.
